Introducing Sifted Membership

We’re launching a paid membership model to accelerate the next stage of our expansion.

By John Thornhill

Our new paid membership model provides unlimited access to our exclusive member content, including sector deep dives, valuation analyses and investor surveys, as well as member-only events.

We launched Sifted in 2019 to provide the most insightful coverage of Europe’s fast-evolving startup world. With a team of 11 journalists across the region, we provide grown up reporting on startup Europe.

Backed by the Financial Times but run as a separate venture, Sifted has quickly grown to become a must-read for European entrepreneurs and an indispensable platform for investors, as well as bigger and more innovative companies. To accelerate our future expansion, Sifted is now launching a paid membership model.

“We founded Sifted to give a voice to a remarkable new generation of European entrepreneurs determined to improve the world. Please join us.” — John Thornhill, Sifted Founder

Our next steps are to deepen our reporting network, produce more exclusive investor surveys and in-depth market analyses and host more online (for now) member events. Becoming a monthly, annual or founding member gives you access to a variety of Sifted’s suite of products.

Keep your eyes peeled for discounts on our membership packages — make sure you sign up to our range of newsletters so you don’t miss them!

We’re excited by how far we’ve come and where we’re going at Sifted. If you like what we’re doing then please join us by becoming a member and helping to build startup Europe, together.

If you have any other questions about Sifted membership, do contact us at [email protected].

You don’t know me and I don’t know you yet!!! I get you have to make a profit why don’t you do what 98% of other organisations do sponsor you have a captive audience and you’re missing a golden opportunity to capitalise on,instead your pissing the reader off before they read the first sentence, with your banner popping up at the first opportunity, no one is saying they want a free trial, they are saying give them a taster of content, you could pick six story’s and let the reader decide if they want to pay something on a voluntary… Read more »

Hi Phil, Thanks for getting in touch and taking the time to write that comment. We really appreciate honest and frank feedback from our readers. We’re currently experimenting with a number of different membership strategies as we approach the new year, and access to member articles is just one aspect of Sifted Membership. We also run member events and are building a community for Europe’s startup ecosystem. We don’t, however, have any plans to change our payment scheme at this time. This is simply for the reason that putting together member journalism and events takes considerable time and effort, and… Read more »

Yes, leaving the site now because of over aggressive paywalling.

Tried to read one article to see what the content was like. Immediately bannered me looking for me to join to read. Sorry but need to see what I’m buying before I buy.

Hi Mark, Thanks for getting in touch, and totally appreciate wanting to try a product out before buying. Because our member journalism takes considerable resource to create, we don’t free trials, but have built a number of packages to suit a range of different readers. You can subscribe for as little as £19 a month, with no commitment — and if you use the discount code KAI20 that’ll come down to £15.20. I hope that helps, and as always, we appreciate the feedback. Let me know if you have any other questions, or feel free to get in touch with… Read more »

Is it possible to pay just for one article? I’m fine to pay a premium for one-time access. I’m just not into recurring fees for yet another news source that I’d only read infrequently. (In the kindest of ways… not saying it’s not riveting content, just saying I’ve got a lot going on but want to be able to read what I want to read, even if I have to pay for just that piece.)

Hi Jennie,

Thanks very much for taking the time to get in touch. I’m afraid we don’t currently have a pay per article feature on our website, but we appreciate that recurring fees can be difficult to keep track of.

If you’re interested in reading a few articles, you can subscribe to Sifted Monthly membership for as little as £15.20 (using the 20% discount code KAI20), and then switch auto-renew off in the ‘My profile’ section of the site.

I hope that helps — let me know if you have any other questions at all.

Best,
Kai

It seems worthwhile but for someone in orientation stage or starting up from scratch thr monthly fee in unduable. Their shoyld be at least a 2 or 3 months free membership for people who prove to be f.e. in pre seed stage. For pensionados like thr mr. from India, get him to share his knowledge in exchange for a membership. Look for collaboration with f.e. female entrepeneur stimulators like Impulse4women and give women like me a chance to get some real quality information.

I think Sifted should offer complimentary access to entrepreneurs such as Mahendra!
