Miki Kuusi, cofounder of Finnish food delivery unicorn Wolt, has been named the new CEO of Deliveroo, following the completion of the company’s acquisition by DoorDash.
Deliveroo’s founding CEO, Will Shu, announced last month that he would depart when the acquisition closed, after more than a decade at the company.
Once fierce competitors, both Wolt and Deliveroo have now been absorbed into US rival DoorDash. Wolt was acquired in 2022, for €7bn; Deliveroo for £2.9bn, in a deal announced this year in May.
Marianne Vikkula, current COO at Wolt, will become CEO. Kuusi, meanwhile, will relocate from Helsinki to London, and retain his dual role as head of international for DoorDash.
The numbers
Deliveroo works with around 178k merchants and 130k riders.
The company recently reported losses of £19.2m in Q2 of 2025, as costs associated with the DoorDash acquisition, described by Deliveroo as “exceptional”, stacked up. Revenue was up 8% in the same period, hitting £1bn.
By comparison, DoorDash saw revenues jump 25% in Q2, hitting $3.3bn, above Wall Street estimates.
