We’re a few weeks away from Sifted Summit — the event where startups make headlines.

Here are six reasons why you should attend.

Catch up with the entire Sifted team and more than 3,000 startup operators, founders and investors on October 4-5 at Magazine London. Final tickets here.

1/ You can get a pulse on market macros — and sector micros

This year’s theme is new rules — Stripe cofounder John Collison, Passion Capital founding partner Eileen Burbidge and Wise founder turned investor Taavet Hinrikus will discuss how they’re playing their cards in the bear market.

Across four stages of timely content, we’ll dive into climate tech, health tech, fintech and deeptech. There’ll be plenty of AI talk from Builder.ai, Sana, Proximie, Mistral and Oxolo, too.

2/ It’s the event where startup news breaks

At last year’s Summit, Improbable’s Herman Narula cut Meta down to size. This year, put a face to the byline as Sifted journalists again take their sharp questioning from the page to the stage.

When they’re not on stage, you‘ll find the full Sifted editorial team in the newsroom. They’ll be searching for fresh stories — pop by for a chat.

A big news story calls for a sizeable splash — connect with journalists from other leading publications such as Business Insider, Forbes, Financial Times, Wired and the Guardian.

3/ You can make meaningful connections in intimate meetups

Sifted Summit brings together the best of startup Europe. This year, we’re launching a series of community-led meetups to make it easier to find your people.

Get practical advice on climbing the VC ladder or take a step towards securing an angel cheque during office hours run by Included VC and Alma Angels.

Attend fishbowl forums where lively hosts will ask big questions. Exchange ideas or sit back and hear fresh takes on issues that are top of mind for your sector or scene — from climate tech to queer tech. Hosts include Series Q, Zebras Unite, Greentech Alliance, The BAE HQ, Founderland and VentureESG.

4/ You can find investor-founder fit

Investors: source the best startups in European tech. Half of our audience will be startups and scaleups — with a number handpicked by Sifted editors.

Startups: find the investors you want to work with. Atomico, Balderton Capital, Earlybird, LocalGlobe, Seedcamp, Sequoia Capital and Stride.VC are on the guest list. Meet active angels from communities such as Operator Exchange, the Evangelistas and Alma Angels.

At last year’s event, Lenz Labs founder Carolina Toczycka was offered £1m for her round.

5/ You can learn the nuts and bolts of startup building

Sifted’s Startup Life newsletter has been spotlighting Europe’s leading operators for two years, so we felt it was about time to hand it a stage of its own.

Hear actionable advice at Startup Life LIVE. Learn how DICE, Enfuce, Hotjar and Bloom & Wild are saving cash through strategic fractional hires, keeping investors on good terms and making remote work work.

6/ You can try out new tech and connect with clients

Pop by the expo to try and test the latest tools in tech — snap up swag, enter giveaways and chat to our supportive sponsors, without whom we couldn’t run the event.

Special shoutout to our headline partner, Latham & Watkins; to our major partners: HSBC Innovation Banking, Morgan Stanley; and to our supporting partners: Stripe, Twilio Segment, Nato Innovation Fund, OpenPayd, Harmonic and Etc at BT Group.

Download the app to plan out your days — more than 19,000 messages were exchanged last year. We also have plenty of spaces for serendipitous chats, a cosy networking lounge, food trucks and an afterparty.
