By Michael Stothard 9 September 2019 Sifted is partnering with hiring platform Jobbio to give readers access to career opportunities in some of Europe’s top startups and tech companies. Dublin-based Jobbio has over 6,000 companies on its platform from giants Airbnb and Slack to smaller startups such as Berlin-based computer vision start-up Big Cloud. The partnership is part of Sifted’s broader mission to connect up the continent’s rapidly-developing startup ecosystem. Stephen Quinn, co-founder and chief executive of Jobbio, said that the European tech and startup ecosystem was at a critical juncture. About €28bn was invested in European startups last year, compared to just €9bn in 2013, according to Dealroom. “Europe is going through a key moment right now and is increasingly getting more international attention,” he said. Across Europe, there is a rise in the number of talented people wanting to work for startups, attracted in part by a greater sense of “purpose” and the chance to help build something from the ground up. In cities such as Amsterdam, tech is hiring more than any other sector. At the same time, finding top talent is one of the top concerns for startups. Hiring can be enormously time-consuming for founders, particularly before the company is large enough to have an HR chief. And the stakes are high. One of the top 3 reasons why startups fail, according to CBInsights, is hiring the wrong people. To find a job or see our vacancies, have a browse.
