Revolut has launched an in-app AI assistant, its first major AI product for consumers.
The release marks the latest in an ongoing product blitz by Europe’s most valuable fintech. Sifted previously revealed how Revolut was gearing up to release a slew of new products around the world, including credit cards, savings accounts and mortgages.
Rolling out in the UK on Thursday, AI by Revolut (AIR) allows customers to manage their finances with functions such as spending insights, investment tracking, subscription management or lost card freezing within conversations.
AIR also has travel assistance capabilities, as it can help with trip budgets and purchasing Revolut eSIMs in-app. Customers can chat with the copilot by swiping down from the middle of the screen on the Revolut app landing page.
The company emphasised AIR doesn’t retain data and can only access the data customers already see like transactions, investments and cards.
At the fintech’s November 2024 Revolutionaries event, cofounders Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko announced the AI assistant vision to consumers. UK CEO Francesca Carlesi told Bloomberg in June the AI financial assistant would “go live shortly”.
Sifted later reported the company had established a new AI unit, which was hiring for roles to build AI-powered personal assistants, voice products, call centre agents and outbound sales agents.
Julia Ponomaverva, Revolut customer experience and AI product lead, said: "We believe the era of navigating through endless tabs and menus is over."
