Client success manager

We’re looking for a new commercial project manager to make our advertising and sponsorship clients the happiest folk in town. You’ll be championing client projects internally and ensuring a seamless delivery of client campaigns across our growing portfolio of advertising and sponsorship products.

Our team of reporters, based across Europe, aren’t chasing the latest funding announcements or product releases; plenty of other sites have got that covered. We are telling the stories that should be told — big startup trends, compelling company profiles and the everyday lessons that come from growing a business and messing up along the way. We have also just raised £4m to do more of what we do, even better.

Overview of the role

As a commercial project manager, you’ll be a committed client ambassador, representing the interests of advertising and sponsorship clients across all Sifted’s commercial product lines.

Day-to-day duties will include:

  • Acting as the post-sale point-of-contact for clients and internal stakeholders for your client’s commercial projects — creating project plans and managing deadlines to ensure delivery of each element of the client contract. 
  • Providing support to clients — answering any questions and leading status updates (where required)
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support the delivery of commercial projects — communicating any blockers which may impact delivery to department heads.
  • Having an in-depth understanding of a client’s critical success factors for a campaign and monitoring these throughout delivery of the contract.
  • Writing scopes of work — and ensuring clients and colleagues work within the boundaries of the scope. 
  • Maintaining the integrity of Sifted — and adhering to strict boundaries between the commercial and editorial departments.

Who are we looking for?

You should:

  • Have a minimum of two years’ client-facing experience in a comparable role and the ability to work with a wide range of products/services. 
  • Be motivated by creating an amazing client experience
  • Have experience of, or a keen interest in, working for a media organisation 
  • Be a meticulous planner — precision, organisation and project planning (e.g. using Gantt charts and other project management tools) is your thing!
  • Be a stickler for keeping to deadlines — and be confident in chasing when these are missed 
  • Be an excellent communicator — you’ll be the point-of-contact for both internal and external stakeholders — you’re a natural at building trust and rapport.
  • Enjoy communicating with clients and be confident in managing their expectations
  • Be adaptable — Sifted is in its growth phase and so you should enjoy iterating and developing your role and expertise.
  • You will be cool under pressure and display a “can-do” mindset
  • Be excited about the prospect of working at a fast-growing media business, and enjoy working across a portfolio of a wide variety of commercial products, including (but not limited to) newsletters, content, reports, events (digital and in-person), podcasts and bespoke projects.
  •  Uphold Sifted’s integrity, quality and unique style. 

Bonus points:

  • Experience in low-volume digital advertising trafficking (but the willingness to learn is just as important)

  • Salary of £30-35k
  • Equity equal to 10% of your starting salary.

Location

London (although we are open to semi-remote applicants — ie. people who could travel in 2/3 days per week)
