Startup Europe. Grown up reporting
Sifted is looking for a creative, collaborative and versatile journalist who is full of ideas, knows how to make smart commissions and has a knack for getting the best out of writers.
As a core member of Sifted Intelligence, your role will be focused on delivering exceptional long form reports, managing/working with a team of external and internal journalists, as well as contributing parts to reports as needed.
Sifted is a new media platform, backed by the Financial Times, reporting on the world of technology and startups in Europe. Just two years after launching, we’ve become known for our high-quality journalism and fresh viewpoints, and a must-read for many founders, investors and people working in startups across the continent.
Our Sifted Intelligence team produces long form content, going behind the headlines to explore the trends shaping the European startup ecosystem.
At present Sifted Intelligence reports either have a sectoral (e.g. online food delivery, fintech), thematic (e.g. consumer tech trends, tech for good), or geographic (e.g. European startups and corona crisis, French tech ecosystem) focus.
We have a small-company mindset, but big company goals, and can draw on many of the strengths and benefits of a world-respected brand, the Financial Times. We’re friendly, hard-working and passionate about what we do. We have a flat structure, collaborate across disciplines, and everyone has impact across many areas of the business. We value feedback, honesty and clear communication.
London (although we are a fully-remote team for the foreseeable future and are open to semi-remote applicants — ie. people who could travel in a few days per week).
If this sounds like fun to you get in touch with [email protected] explaining what you would like the next Sifted report to cover and why + CV / past writing examples.
