Client services manager – Media

We’re looking for a client services manager working within the commercial team of a scaling media platform.

You’ll be championing client projects internally and ensuring a seamless delivery of client campaigns across our growing portfolio of advertising and sponsorship products. Managing a team of two who help execute campaigns, manage client feedback, and ensure  the post-sales experience at Sifted is excellent.

Our team of reporters, based across Europe, aren’t chasing the latest funding announcements or product releases; plenty of other sites have got that covered. Overview of the role:

As client services manager, you’ll be a committed client ambassador, representing the interests of advertising and sponsorship clients across all Sifted media commercial product lines, such as newsletters, reports, branded content, events and more. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of a team of two client services professionals; supporting, mentoring and delegating tasks as appropriate
  • Leading regular team catch ups to evaluate performance with the view of always creating a seamless process as we continue to expand
  • Ensuring that client contracts are fulfilled within agreed deadlines, agreeing KPIs with your direct line manager and your team.
  • Acting as the post-sale point-of-contact for several clients and internal stakeholders for key commercial projects – supporting on the creation of project plans and managing deadlines to ensure delivery of each element of the client contract. 
  • Providing support to clients – answering any questions and leading status updates (where required)
  • Having an in-depth understanding of a client’s critical success factors for a campaign and ensure they are effectively monitored these throughout delivery of the contract.
  • Writing scopes of work – and ensuring clients and colleagues work within the boundaries of the scope. 
  • Maintaining the integrity of Sifted – and adhering to strict boundaries between the commercial and editorial departments.

Who are we looking for?

You must have a minimum of three year’s experience in a comparable role in media or publishing and enjoy working across a wide range of digital advertising and sponsorship products.

In addition, you should:

  • Be motivated by creating an amazing client experience
  • Have some management or mentoring experience- and enjoying managing and and motivating your team  
  • Understand the importance of delegation in creating a fulfilled and cohesive team 
  • Be a meticulous planner – precision, organisation and project planning (e.g. using Gantt charts and other project management tools) is your thing
  • Be a stickler for keeping to deadlines – and be confident in chasing when these are missed 
  • Be an excellent communicator – you’ll be the point-of-contact for both internal and external stakeholders – you’re a natural at building trust and rapport
  • Enjoy communicating with clients and be confident in managing their expectations
  • Be adaptable – Sifted is in its growth phase and so you should enjoy iterating and developing your role and expertise
  • You will be cool under pressure and display a “can-do” mindset
  • Be excited about the prospect of working at a fast-growing media business, and enjoy working across a portfolio of a wide variety of commercial products, including (but not limited to) newsletters, content, reports, events (digital and in-person), podcasts and bespoke projects
  •  Uphold Sifted’s integrity, quality and unique style

Bonus points:

  • Experience in low-volume digital advertising trafficking (but the willingness to learn is just as important)

What we offer 

Salary of £40,000 – 45,000 dependent on experience

Equity equal to 10% of your starting salary.

Location

London/hybrid, we have a degree of flexibility with this role, we are looking for someone who can work 2/3 days per week in our London Shoreditch offices.
